T. Benny Rushing served as a member of the University of Utah faculty from 1969 to 1997. He was chair of the Department of Mathematics from 1985 to 1988 and again from 1991 to 1993. He served as Dean of the College of Science from 1993 to 1997. T. Benny Rushing was born October 30, 1941 in Marshville, North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate and Masters degrees at Wake Forest University in 1964 and 1965 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1968.
